MTL Electro: Montreal's Electronic Music Scene
YOUG

YOUG

YOUG is a Montréal-based electronic music artist, composer, and live performer whose work blends percussive textures, energetic rhythms, and sensitive sonic landscapes. His performances reflect a deep connection to human and natural resonances, creating immersive moments that leave a lasting impression on audiences.

Awarded the Euterke Scholarship in 2021 and recognized in the Cercle de Composition de l’Université de Montréal acousmatic music performance competition, YOUG is currently pursuing studies in digital music at the Université de Montréal. His practice combines live techno, psychedelic electronic music, and acousmatic composition as an experimental laboratory for sound exploration and audience engagement.

Driven by curiosity and a passion for discovering new atmospheres and spatialized soundscapes, YOUG has performed extensively across Québec and Europe. He draws inspiration directly from nature, capturing subtle orchestrated landscapes using field recorders and microphones to integrate organic textures into his electronic compositions.

In 2020, YOUG co-founded the Insideout platform, creating a global space for artists to exchange ideas and collaborate during the pandemic. Through this initiative, he continues to support experimental electronic music, sound research, and live performances, contributing to the growth of the Montreal electronic music scene.
