Kaytranada

Kaytranada (born Louis Kevin Celestin) is a Haitian‑Canadian DJ, producer, and electronic music artist raised in the Montreal electronic music scene. Known for his genre‑blending sound that fuses electronic, house, hip‑hop, R&B, funk, and dance music, Kaytranada has become one of the most influential producers to emerge from Montreal, Quebec.

Kaytranada’s musical journey began in his teens, releasing beat tapes and remixes under the alias Kaytradamus before gaining widespread recognition in the early 2010s. His debut studio album, 99.9%

(2016), won the prestigious Polaris Music Prize and a Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year, establishing him as a major force in electronic music.

He followed this success with Bubba (2019), which earned two Grammy Awards — including Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Dance Recording — and collaborations with top artists across genres. In 2024–2025 Kaytranada released Timeless and Ain’t No Damn Way!, continuing his evolution with fresh, dancefloor‑ready grooves and eclectic production.

Kaytranada’s sound is celebrated for its hybrid rhythms, deep soulful grooves, and innovative production, drawing influence from hip‑hop beatmaking, Afro‑Caribbean rhythms, and electronic house. As a Montreal DJ and global touring artist, he has played major festivals and clubs worldwide, helping put Montreal on the map as a hub for forward‑thinking electronic music.
