Damien is a Montréal-based DJ and electronic music artist with over 20 years of experience in the scene. Performing as DJ M_, he has been mixing vinyl since the early 2000s, after discovering techno in Germany and developing a deep connection to underground electronic music.
After relocating to Montreal in 2009, he founded the Tonewerk parties, showcasing guest DJs and live electronic acts, and contributing to the city’s underground techno scene. His DJ sets are known for their intensity and precision—all killer, no filler, focused on delivering high-impact tracks on the dancefloor.
More recently, Damien has been active as a live hardware performer, using drum machines and effects with the Silicon Beats collective, including performances at SAT for Nuit Blanche. His solo project, M_MCHN (Mean Machine), pushes a raw, machine-driven sound rooted in gritty textures and analog energy.
He has also released music as a member of the dream-pop band Spiderman Pterodactyl, bridging electronic production with melodic experimentation.
